FDL INTELICOM
How it works
Figures don’t lie. FDL turns financial information into useful context.
FDL is built to move from a business question to a decision-ready financial view. We combine structured information, analytical work and human professional judgement in a controlled process with clear inputs, outputs and responsibility boundaries.
ASK
Start with the decision.
We begin with the question management actually needs to answer — not with a generic report. That may be a cash concern, profitability problem, planning decision, control weakness, accounting-process issue or the need for clearer financial visibility.
We define
- the decision or management objective;
- the required time horizon and level of detail;
- available information and known gaps;
- stakeholders, deadlines and decision owners;
- whether specialist professional input is required.
STRUCTURE
Make the information usable.
We organise the relevant financial and operational information into a structure that can be reviewed consistently. This may include data mapping, reconciliation logic, reporting definitions, control evidence, assumptions and a documented issue list.
Typical outputs
- data and information map;
- scope and responsibility matrix;
- reporting or analysis structure;
- assumption register;
- data-quality and evidence gaps.
ANALYSE
Turn numbers into context.
We analyse the information against the agreed question. Depending on scope, this can include variance analysis, profitability and cost review, cash-flow analysis, scenario modelling, trend analysis, control review or process diagnostics.
The principle
Numbers are not interpreted in isolation. We connect financial outcomes with operational drivers, assumptions, timing, constraints and the decisions that created them.
REVIEW
Add professional judgement where it matters.
When the case requires expertise beyond structured analysis, FDL brings in the appropriate human review. The expert receives a defined scope and organised information rather than an unstructured problem, making review more focused and traceable.
Review can include
- accounting or financial process review;
- specialist interpretation of a defined issue;
- challenge of assumptions and scenarios;
- risk, control or compliance perspective;
- validation of conclusions within the expert’s agreed remit.
DECIDE
Deliver a decision-ready output.
The final output is designed for action. It may be a management reporting pack, scenario comparison, cash or profitability view, control-remediation plan, process design, decision memo or an agreed recurring reporting cadence.
Management remains in control
FDL provides information, structure, analysis and professional input. The client’s authorised management remains responsible for business decisions, approvals and implementation unless a specific contracted responsibility states otherwise.
Two engagement modes
Defined-scope engagement
For a specific question, review, model, reporting requirement or process problem with a clear beginning, deliverable and completion point.
Recurring financial support
For organisations that need a continuing reporting, planning, control or financial-information layer with agreed cadence, responsibilities and review points.
